I felt compelled to write you in order to thank you for making such a wonderful bicycle. Two years ago I bought a Citizen after a long search for a bike that resembled some of the bikes I'd seen while traveling in Europe, and I instantly feel in love with it! I am from upstate NY and rode my new Liberty the six miles to work this morning. I chose the more hilly route and made it right up the hill without having to get off to walk for the first time ever! I have never had more fun on any bike in my life. I love to mountain bike, and I enjoy road biking, but something is special and empowering about having a workhorse of a bike that I can use for running errands or riding across town and back, all without working myself over like on a single-speed beach cruiser. I hop off of curbs and feel that the wider tires on strong mountain bike rims are less prone to getting caught in rain gutter ruts and metal grates than a skinnier wheel/tire combination.

I got back on a bike for the first time in a DECADE last year, and in that year I've had ONE goal: to be able to commute to work at least ONCE a week by bike. Before spending $1000 or more on a new bike I wanted to be thorough. I test rode. I read reviews. I waited a few months and looked around some more. It is just about a year since I bought my Breezer Greenway, and I thought that I’d use this occasion to send you a “one year later” review. I couldn’t be happier. What a great bike! Prior to this purchase, I hadn’t ridden a bike in about 30 years (I’m 48), so it was with no small amount of apprehension that I first planted myself on the saddle. Since then, I’ve logged about 1500 trouble-free miles on my Greenway and I’ve haven’t looked back. I guess the old saying is true: Once you learn how to ride a bike, you never forget. My Greenway meets my needs as a three-season exercise bike more or less perfectly. (I guess I’ve gotten soft, but I find riding in sub-freezing winter conditions just too brutal.) My routine consists of a 10-mile ride over hilly terrain, 5 days a week. The gear set allows me to negotiate the more aggressive inclines without inducing a coronary and, of course, the downhill stretches are an absolute rush. Gear-changing technology has improved tremendously since I pedaled around town on my old day-glow orange Schwinn Varsity! Click and set – what a concept! The integrated lighting system works beautifully. I’m usually on the road by 6:00 a.m., so in the early spring and late fall I use the lights on every ride. I’ve found that the steerhorn handlebar is quite an innovative improvement over the traditional ramhorn design, allowing for a wide range of comfortable grip options. The frame is very forgiving when riding over bumps and dips, and the shock-absorbing saddle post (the greatest invention since fire, in my humble opinion) helps to smooth out the ride significantly. Steering is responsive and sure. The kickstand is a handy feature (used every day) that is too often overlooked by your competitors. Joe, the Greenway is an intelligently designed, well crafted, and dependable machine. As we say in New York, ya done good. I look forward to riding it for many years to come, and will never hesitate to recommend Breezer Bicycles to anyone who is looking for a quality ride offered at a very reasonable price. "First of all I have to say that the respect I have for Joe to take the risk and produce a bike for the commuters, city riders, and everyone else out there is huge. I also believe that with the rise of gas prices, and increasing environmental awareness and concern, combined with the health benefits of cycling - it all synergizes to make his bikes economical, intelligent, and simply the right choice for many.

I often ride my Breezer on 25-mile round trip rides, and while my racing road bike is a lot lighter, I feel that the upright riding position, combined with the ruggedness of the bike itself lend to be a much better choice around town. The 7-speed Nexus shifting is quite frankly the most amazing gearing system I have ever used. I like the fact that I can shift at any time including coasting, pedaling, at a stop, or under full torque up a hill. It is revolutionary and makes the bike complete.

The internal hub generator is powerful and efficient, and not having to recharge or replace batteries is the greatest aspect of the lighting system in my opinion.

Buying a bike that does not require all kinds of accessories is also another aspect that I like. It is ready to go off the showroom floor.
