The Doppler offers riders a traditional brevet and touring bike with smooth-rolling 650B tires that can venture into the dirt for those off-road excursions . While gravel riding is the latest trend, 650b wheels have been a well-kept secret within the brevet community for decades! 650b offers a distinct advantage by offering a larger-volume tire to provide both greater cushion and traction on rough roads. The smaller- diameter 650b rims also provide a stronger wheel which is ideal for loaded touring or harsh conditions. Compared to the Inversion and Radar the Doppler frame offers a more classic road bike geometry while still offering a high level of functionality with a wide-range drivetrain and frame features.
BREEZER COMPACT GEO: Joe created the compact frame geometry with the goal of having the smallest frame possible while using longer-length parts like seatposts so bikes properly fit riders. The benefits were both to save weight and increase stiffness for pedaling by having shorter frame tubes. Before this road frames were traditionally very tall and used short seat posts. This was problematic because the small-diameter steel tubes would flex very easily. Joe’s geometry made the frames much more agile while also offering greater maneuverability both on and off road.
BREEZE-IN DROPOUTS: Joe Breeze’s iconic Breeze-In dropouts offer twice the rigidity and half the weight of standard dropouts; after almost three decades they are still used by custom frame builders to this day. The hooded shape was a breakthrough in design that allowed two major advantages over traditional cast or forged dropouts. First was a much stronger connection between the chainstay & seatstay tubes to the dropout and the second was the ability to save weight by using less material for the forging. Breeze-Ins also enable the tubing length to extend as close as possible to the rear axle and avoid using heavy and stiff CNC yokes or mounting plates keeping the tubing the star of the show and the ride quality as high as possible. Now made for both quick-release and thru-axle applications, Breeze-In dropouts improve shifting, wheel changes, and of course, ride quality.
BREEZER STEEL 4130 CROMO: The material Joe started with, and still the staple material for most Breezer bikes. Chromoly tubing has earned its place in cycling’s list of top-rated materials as it offers incredible strength-to-weight properties, up to 5 times the fatigue & tensile strength of 6061 aluminum, while also offering excellent ride quality. Add to this the ability to repair the material after welding and you can understand why adventure riders have trusted this material most to safely carry them around the world for decades.
Multi-Mount Capability: A signature feature on all adventure models. Frames and forks come designed with multiple mounting options for racks, fenders and bottle cages. These features allow you to fully customize & personalize your Breezer for the type of riding you love most. Whether it’s loading up with five water bottles to traverse across barren wastelands or outfitting some new waterproof bags on front & rear racks for a weekend bikepacking trip, Breezer has you covered!
